Tell me the difference between knitted fabric and woven fabric
Update:04 Nov
1、 Fabric composition:
Knitted fabric: The loop is the basic Z unit of the knitted fabric, and the loop is composed of the loop shaft and the extension line in a spatial curve. The loops are connected with each other to form a woven fabric. The process of yarn forming loops can be carried out horizontally or longitudinally. The horizontal knitting is called weft knitted fabric, while the longitudinal knitting is called warp knitted fabric.
Woven fabric (woven fabric): It is made of two groups of mutually perpendicular yarns, which are interwoven with 90 degrees of latitude and longitude. The longitudinal yarn is called warp, and the transverse yarn is called weft. Each intersection point between warp and weft is called weave point, which is the basic Z unit of woven fabric.
2、 Basic characteristics of fabric:
Knitted fabric: because the loop is formed by bending the yarn in space, and each loop is composed of a yarn, when the knitted fabric is subject to external tension, such as longitudinal tension, the loop bending changes, while the loop height also increases, while the loop width decreases. If the tension is transverse tension, the situation is opposite, and the loop height and width can obviously be converted under different tension conditions, Therefore, knitted fabrics have great extensibility. It has great breathability and soft feel.
Woven fabric (woven fabric, At the same time, the fabric shrinks laterally. When the woven fabric is stretched transversely under external tension, the tension of the weft yarn increases, the bending decreases, and the warp yarn bending increases. For example, the horizontal stretching continues until the weft yarn is straightened, while the woven fabric shrinks longitudinally. The warp and weft yarns will not change, so the woven fabric is generally tight and hard.
